Show not tell exercise 3

I did this with francis and this is a show not tell.

“Goodbye coach” Bob said walking to the street “Goodbye Bob” his coach replied, He walked around a neighbourhood & found a shortcut through an alleyway. He thought to himself, “Should I go this way or should I go the long way home” He stood there for a while thinking until a dog barked & made him run into the alleyway, he didn’t stop until he came to a rubbish bin. He took a breath then started walking, hearing multiple footstep behind him, “How long does this alleyway go on for?” he asked himself.

As soon as he turned around there was no one, not even a thing behind him it was pitch black. The next thing he saw was a group of people, he started running down the alleyway as fast as he could. He tripped up over his laces, he got up and started to slowly run but then ran for his life he ran through the alleyway & all the way home, he didn’t even stop once, he opened the door, ran inside and told his parents to never use the alleyway. His heart started to pound after he got in his bed he told himself never stay out late again.

Show not tell exercise 2

Mary was hopping up and down like some apples being juggled because her older sister Jan was going to take her shopping at the mall to get a new piece of clothing that would fit."Hurry Mary we'll be late. We have to leave in a few minutes," Jan yelled frantically yelled. "Hurry up!!!".
"But sister I can't find my other shoes!" Mary whinged. Jan picked up her car keys off the bench and walked towards the door. Mary thought she would leave without her. She started to run round the house frantically trying to find her shoes.
It was the last stretch of the finals match of the basketball competition. Tama was shooting a free throw penalty shots. First he jumped and threw the ball towards the hoop. It spun round and round but fell out. He sighed, you heard the audience groan “Oh”. He took a deep breath and tried to clear his mind. He threw it another time making it soar through the air hitting the rim but didn’t not go in. “The last one”  he thought. His heart was pounding and sweat was dripping off his forehead. He jumped and threw it.... ...But it went right over the entire hoop! The audience went “Booooo!” Tama barged past the player, stormed off the court and went and slumped in the corner.

Emily was angry. (Her older sister told her she couldn't come shopping with her.  The main character is Laura, the older sister.)
Emily asked “Let me come with you! I want to shop with you!!!” “No way you’re too young you will get lost ” Laura said, then Emily clenched her fists and started to stomp out while giving her sister the evil eyes and yanked the door open  and locked herself in the basement and she swore and punched the wall” She is such a brat but she has to get over it” thought Laura. Laura opened the door after 5 minutes. Emily looked at her sister & scowled and asked politely “Let me come please Laura” “Ok since you asked so nicely” replied Laura.
Kyle was nervous. He had put her name down for but is not sure if he will get in the team. He walked away to the bathroom and puked she felt butterflies still, In a few seconds Kyle walked back out to the courts, he started breathing shallow & his legs started to shake. In a flash it was like he fainted but he hadn’t yet. He started to have a sweaty palm. He was not confident and but when his name was called out last he almost screamed with joy. He started ran over to hug his mum who was watching the practice for the team. ”I am in the team, I am in the team, I am in the team” Kyle yells in amazement. “This is the best thing ever.” Kyle says.

Breakers day

On Tuesday some students from class 1 to 10 went on a trip to see the Breakers. We had a few matches where kids vs Breakers and after there was a game of the teachers vs Breakers. We then got a book each for the Breakers to sign. I used to play mini ball so really enjoyed meeting the Breakers.

Explanation Treaty of Waitangi

The Treaty of Waitangi is a contract or agreement between Queen Victoria of England. The Maori people were trying to solve the problems to make peace for our
land.

On February 6th 1840  the  Maori chiefs were talking over who was going to sign the treaty. The British were  talking about the Treaty and how it would bring peace .

The signing of the treaty  was a significant event in New Zealand's history. Unfortunately there were misunderstandings over how it was translated which eventuality lead to the Maoris war. Where Hone Heke chopped down the flagpole 5 times.
