AFL or American Football League

Australian Football League or AFL for short. I’m not a fan of rugby but this was really fun. The things we learned were the drop punt, chest mark, high mark, speckie, ruck and handball. The coach was called Tim.

The drop punt was first and we did it along with the chest mark, high mark and speckie. The drop punt is where you drop the ball and kick it with the top of your foot and don’t let it bounce. The hard part is that if you let it bounce the ball would go haywire. The chest mark is where you put your hands out straight and catch the ball by pulling your arms in and getting the ball on the way ending up on your chest.

The high mark is when you put your hands up by your head like a diamond. The aim is to get the X on one side of the ball in the gap and then surround it with your hands. The speckie is where you jump and do the chest mark like your superman saving a cat from a tree. The way we did it was someone would drop punt it and the other would use the mark or speckie that would be best used for the balls hight.

The handball is where you have a straight hand with the ball on its side. The other hand is a fist and you hit the ball with where you’re thumb is. We practiced this a lot. It was tricky for a while. Then I got it a little. Not much, a little.

The ruck is where the ref throws the ball up and you need to tip it to your team. Kinda like basketball. I got put in a group of a very tall person and a very short person. The tall person got every ball it could. The smaller one didn’t get any. I had a 50/50 because I could get it from the short person, but not the tall.

Finals for FIFA World Cup 2010

The match was Netherlands VS Spain. The only goal was made by spain 4 minutes until extra time by Andrés Iniesta. There were many yellow cards handed out during that match. Netherlands had a goalkeeper of a brick wall. At least until that brick wall was destroyed.

The teams lineups were good. The lineups helped a lot with the defence and attack but personally the goalkeepers were the best players, especially the Netherlands goalkeeper. But sadly the score was 1-0 to Spain. Spain took home the world cup and netherlands were the runner-up this time.

Empathy

Empathy is where you put yourself in others shoes. Feel what they feel. Think, if that happened to me how would I feel. If people weren’t empathetic everyone would be upset and this world won’t be a happy place. If you say your dog has died (very sad) no one would feel how you feel they’ll all just say “Go get a new one then HAHAHAHA.”

If people were empathetic and your dog dies. Everyone would feel sorry for you and that would make you feel better. Like they’ll say “Thats so sad” and “I know how you feel.” They might even tell you about their dog or cat dieing. They’ll help you get over your dog dieing.

Writing test Term 2

Dodgeball. Dodgeball. The worst tournament they could pick. Dodgeball. I prefer badminton. Its just that the first time I played dodgeball was hard enough. *Dramatic Flashback* “Owww” I moan when the first murderball hit me. The coach just blows the whistle and calls me off. Someone made a catch and gets me back on. “Oww” I mutter again when the next murderball hit me.

Well the first practice wasn’t much better. It was year 7 VS year 8. Guess how many boys were on the year 7 team. C'mon guess. 3 that is how many, including me. The year 8 team had half the class and about ⅓ of the year 8’s are boys. There all the good ones in our team apparently. So we got pummeled like an asteroid hit our ship. Literally. The balls were the asteroids and we were the ships. Its not fun. But the good bit is about not being good at dodgeball is the fact you're not a target. The good people are. So you survive longer.

The first match was better than I expected. Since all the good people were on the same team as the weaker people the weaker people would sacrifice themselves to protect the better people. We slammed pummeled and caught the balls so the decoys could come back on. Then it came to the final 5 on our team. and they had 7. But they had no balls on their side. So we got all the balls and threw them all at the same time we somehow got 4 out!

The final three were harder than the rest. We hadn't learned the concept of taking the good people out first so our only way to win is to catch them out or somehow get 1 out by throwing all of the 3 balls on our side and hopefully hitting him. We caught 1 out and had 4 balls to throw. We threw them all at once. We hit another 1! The last one. But he had all the balls on his side. He threw 1 of them, hit someone in our team. Not a big worry, he’s not a good player I think to myself. Then he throws another. Hits no one. The next one hits another weaker person. I'm somehow in the final 3 and we had 3 balls on our side. We threw all 3 at once and he caught 1, deflected 1 with it but 1 hit him in the legs.

The next dodgeball game I was doing a test so I couldn’t play. I had just finished the test when the game was over. So I waited till practice time. Practice time eventually came around and we learnt how the concept of taking out the biggest player (see paragraph 4 line 1.) We also learned teamwork so we could take out more people faster. We’ve done this before it was the throw all the balls at once thing. Still it wasn’t easy to take out all the big players. Lets hope todays game is easier than the rest.

Quatar has been chosen to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. They have been $52,000 from the government to get their stadiums all spick and span ready for the tournament. Russia also made a bid at the same time for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The FIFA World Cup is where teams from all over the world play soccer to see who is the best team and gets the world cup. The first rounds are the preliminaries then the quarter finals, semi finals, and then the finals. The winner of the last cup was Italy. The host of the last cup was South Africa. The host of the FIFA World Cup this year is Brazil.
